The past few months have been amazing for Kulture Break, and shows our enormous impact across the community.
We had 750 enrolments in our classes in Terms 1 and 2, and increased the number of students in our sponsorship program. Our Ladies 1st and Man Up mentoring programs supported over 20 young people in their journey to self-empowerment and personal development.
We conducted our Dance Nation program, engaging over 550 students in Canberra and developing their wellbeing, their community spirit and their physical health. Their progress was celebrated at the Dance Nation Spectacular in June, in front of over 1,500 family, friends and community members.
June and July continued to be busy, with the Genesis Expo showcase displaying the development and spirit of our Kulture Break students. Our Elevate Academy students performed at the Timomatic Welcome Home Concert in July, the whole cohort showing their talents and passion in music and dance.
That was a particularly special occasion, given Timomatic’s history with Kulture Break, his role as a Kulture Break ambassador and his keen support for growing the next generation of Canberra’s talent.
We supported McDonald’s CBR on their Sunday Fundays, engaging the community through performance and the personal touch, and assisted Southpoint Tuggeranong with the Rising Star Talent Competition. It was fantastic to see so much talent and passion amongst Canberra youth!
To top it off, we were featured on the front cover of the Canberra Weekly, along with an article sharing insight into who we are and what we do. From this article, new people have joined Kulture Break, attracted to and heartened by our message of well-being and inclusion.
The rest of the year is proving to be just as busy and just as impactful. We won’t let up on our mission to influence a culture and empower a generation!
