KB & PNP ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Kulture Break Families and Friends,

As we near the end of the year and our upcoming production, I’d like to share some important updates regarding the future direction of Kulture Break.

For over 22 years, Kulture Break has been a charity dance organisation dedicated to enhancing young people’s mental, social, and physical well-being through dance. During this time, thousands have developed skills, confidence, and lasting connections.

However, in the post-pandemic landscape, we’ve encountered significant challenges, including rising costs and an increased demand for mental health support. To ensure our long-term sustainability, the Board has recommended a strategic restructuring of our services, which includes transitioning our after-school dance studio program to a capable partner.

After an extensive process, we are excited to announce our collaboration with Passion n Purpose, led by Kag Ratlhagane, a former team member of Kulture Break for 10 years. Beginning in Term 1 of 2025, Passion n Purpose will take over managing our after-school dance classes at Erindale, allowing Kulture Break to focus on delivering high-quality dance programs within schools.

We firmly believe this collaboration will benefit our students, families, and the broader community we serve, delivering the same positive studio environment and empowering young people to express and be themselves.

Kulture Break will continue to have a presence in schools through the Dance Nation program, and we will maintain our studio representation through our community crews at various events.

What does this mean for you?
Dance classes at Erindale will continue with the same vision and culture in 2025.
The timetable for 2025 will largely remain the same, with minor adjustments for new classes and coaches.
Enrolments for Term 1 will open on the Kulture Break website on December 11.
New crew and troupe opportunities will be available for dancers.

I would like to personally thank you for your ongoing support of Kulture Break. While this collaboration will end a long chapter of Kulture Break operating a dance studio, it opens the door to an exciting new journey.

I look forward to celebrating with you at our end-of-year production, “KB and the 4 C’s,” on December 14, and I will be present for the official handover on Open Day, February 1, 2025.
