24HR MOVEMENT CHALLENGE RAISES $157K FOR YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH

A community moving for youth mental health

What happens when a community comes together to move for 24 hours straight?

You raise $157,000 for youth mental health support.

Fourteen teams took on the 24hr Movement Challenge, pushing through the day and night in a powerful show of commitment to improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

This wasn’t just a fitness challenge. It was movement with meaning. Every step helped fund early intervention programs that support young people before struggles become crises.

Why youth mental health support matters

Youth mental health in Australia is at a critical point:

  • 50% of mental health problems are established by age 14 and 75% by age 24
  • 1 in 2 young people are impacted by suicide by the time they turn 25

Many young people face anxiety, isolation and low self-worth. Often silently.

That’s why early intervention and prevention programs matter. They give young people tools to cope, connect and build resilience before issues escalate.

How movement improves mental health

Research shows physical activity plays a key role in mental wellbeing:

  • Reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression
  • Improves mood and energy
  • Builds social connection through group activity

The 24hr Movement Challenge brings this to life. It’s not solo struggle. It’s shared movement, shared purpose and shared support.

How Kulture Break supports young people

Kulture Break delivers school-based mental health and wellbeing programs that use movement as a gateway to deeper impact.

Young people learn to:

  • Build confidence and resilience
  • Develop a sense of belonging
  • Strengthen social and emotional wellbeing

At the heart of it is a simple message.
You don’t become somebody. You are somebody.

The real impact of the 24hr Movement Challenge

The funds raised will directly support programs that:

  • Reach young people early, before crisis point
  • Improve mental health outcomes in schools
  • Create safe spaces for connection and growth

But the impact goes beyond funding.

At 2am, teams kept moving. Not because it was easy. Because it mattered.

This is what community-led mental health support looks like.

How you can support youth mental health

Want to make a difference?

  • Donate to youth mental health programs
  • Join future community fundraising events
  • Start conversations about mental health
  • Support organisations delivering early intervention programs

Because when we move together, we create change.

The 24hr Movement Challenge proved something powerful.

When people come together with purpose, we don’t just raise funds.
We raise hope.

And for young people doing it tough, that can change everything.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was part of the 2026 24hr Movement Challenge. Whether you moved, donated, rallied your team or supported us behind the scenes – you made this possible, and the young people we support are better off because of you.
